A recent survey conducted by the National Association of Realtors identifies what features are most important to buyers in considering a home purchase. They are:
1) Central air
2) Oversized garage (2 or more spaces)
3) Walk-in closet in master bedroom
4) Cable or Satellite TV ready
5) High-speed internet access
6) Energy efficiency
Buyers are willing to trade off some of these items in order to locate in a specific location or neighborhood. Buyers are more willing to compromise proximity to work over proximity to schools, shopping and parks or playgrounds.
