An independent real estate advisory firm, RCLCO, reports that Mountain’s Edge, a 3,500 acre community in the southwest Las Vegas Valley, was the No. 1 selling master-planned community in the U.S. Mountain’s Edge sold 1,740 new homes in 2007, eight more than in 2006, moving it from the No. 2 position to No. 1. Providence, a development located in the northwest Las Vegas Valley, was No. 5. Summerlin, the 26,000 acre development along the west side of Las Vegas, which held the No. 1 spot for much of the 1990s, was the No. 8 best selling community.
