What a year 2010 has been. I’ve met with so many homeowners who simply did not know what to do with their homes; stay in them, consider a loan modification, sell short, give the lender a deed in lieu of foreclosure or actually allow a foreclosure. I feel fortunate to have been able to help many people reach decisions about what is the best course of action for them .
When I first got my real estate license, I was determined to make the selling or buying of a house as simple and enjoyable as possible for my clients. The decision to sell or buy a house was usually a happy occasion; someone selling their house so they could move on to their next goal in life, showing homes to buyers who were excited to get their first home or a larger home or a home which better fit a lifestyle.
The market has changed dramatically since then and so have my reasons for remaining a Realtor. I feel it is my duty to help homeowners, regardless of their situations. It’s hard to leave a house you thought you were going to live in for a long time. It’s hard to make decisions when one is under stress. It can be difficult for buyers to navigate our incredibly volatile market. My goal for 2011 is to continue helping homeowners reach the decision which is right for them in our difficult real estate marketplace.
