The January 25, 2015 Sunday New York Times had an article on the Secrets of Street Names, which looked at the effect of a street name on the value of a house. The study found that houses on streets with names have a higher value than houses on number streets. Looking at street suffixes – Road, Drive, Court, Avenue, Street, Lane, etc. – the investigation found that houses on streets are worth the least when comparing suffixes. The third correlation between value and street name made a connection between value and uncommon names. You don’t want a house on Main Street, which are the least valuable. Try “Lake” or “Sunset” for a higher value.
