Lunch with Santa a Great Success

One of my favorite events that I am able to assist with each year is the Lunch with Santa event held annually for all Military personal and their families. This years event was on December 10th from 10:30-2:30.

Over 1000 total people were in attendance. Military personal from all branches of service were able to bring their children for a few hours of food, crafts, gifts and of course a chance for the little ones to meet Santa. I have been the volunteer coordinator for this event for the past 6 years and have enjoyed each and every one of them. Crafts included; letters to Santa, snowman building and letters sent to Military members stationed overseas.

Some of the local organizations that assist us in putting on these great community events are; the USO, Operation Homefront, VFW, Blue Star Families and Carrington Mortgage Services. I personally assist with 3 large scale Military events each year and these would not be possible without the coming together of all of the above organizations as well as the many others that offer their assistance.

We do these type of events so that we make sure that the children and families of our Military always have a great Holiday Season. The smiles on the kids faces makes it all well worth the time and effort.
